Tumblr > Twitter
I’ve had a Twitter account for a while, posting crap that’s so irrelevant it shouldn’t be read by anyone. It was a waste of time, and I knew it. My five second time-waster. Perhaps more benefit would have been gained by following others and replying to tweets, but do interesting Twitters exist? They make even celebrities look boring.
Then Tumblr happened.
Tumblr is totally the new Twitter, except that it doesn’t suck and I care enough to browse other people’s Tumblelogs. I joined because you can post little things that you find on the net, as well as the little things you think – 140 character limit be damned. Mostly I loved that templates had different styles depending on whether you posted a quote or a link. Yeah, I had forgotten that I could do the same thing with CSS without Tumblr, though I don’t want to spam panda-duh with little things I find on the net.
…Even if that’s what I’m doing right now. Ha ha.

I saw the dashboard and swooned. Just feature after feature…
- Choosing to post things at a specific time. Make drafts, queue posts.
- Making private posts.
- Adding RSS feeds so your tumblr will automatically link to new posts as they come. I do this for panda-duh just for kicks.
- Setting custom post URLs! It’s always annoyed me how FanUpdate can’t do this.
So yes, I have a Tumblr account now (and pssst, I think everyone should get one). Spamming it brings me much joy. ♥
While some may say they’re not that much smaller, I disagree. Of course I disagree. They’re being sold at the same price. I just spent $4 for 50gm less chocolate. The outrage! Yes, the packaging is cute, but I’m not going to get the same enjoyment from stroking cardboard and clucking “OH, ISN’T THIS CARDBOARD BOX A DEAAARRR”. I can’t eat cardboard boxes, you guys. It’s not going to work.
